Zelda C. Mundhenk (nee Harad), age 93, of Philadelphia, passed away at home on November 2, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
The love, care and generosity that Zelda showed to her family was evidence of the devotion she had for the people she loved. She always looked forward to having the family spend time together. Cooking and baking for Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners were cherished times for Zelda. She also took great pride in her community Involvement. As a practicing Christian, she was involved with organizing and founding new Baptist Churches in the Philadelphia area along with her husband William. When she was younger, Zelda was active politically as a Committee Person and supported the local Veteran community through the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) organization. In her free time, Zelda enjoyed playing Mahjong and bingo, eating out and going to the casino.
Wife of the late William H. Cherished mother of Diana (the late Angelo) Menga, Charmaine Sternberg, Michael (Linda), Steven, Tracy (Annie) and Jessica (Michael) Panati. She will be missed by her 13 devoted grandchildren, 7 loving great grandchildren, 6 beloved great-great grandchildren and her fur baby Sheena. Zelda was predeceased by her daughter-in-law Kathleen and her 4 sisters, Sylvia, Lillian, Edna and Barbara. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral on Friday November 8, 2024 from 9 - 11 AM at Hollen Funeral Home, 3160 Grant Ave (west of Academy). Religious Service 11 AM. Interment Whitemarsh Memorial Park. Zelda's family would like to request that any donations in her name be made to Holy Redeemer Hospice, https://www.redeemerhealth.org/giving, in appreciation of the care and support they have provided.
Florists, all deliveries must arrive at the funeral home on Thursday by 3:00 pm.
