Robert W. Wilson

Robert W. Wilson, "Bob", of Bensalem, PA formerly of Philadelphia, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at the age of 92.  

Bob was born on March 18, 1933, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island to the late Emmie (nee McKeon) and Clinton Wilson. 

Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from April 1953 until April 1955. He retired from the Flemming Companies, Inc. after working for more than 40 years in the Food Warehousing Industry. 

Bob had many talents and hobbies over the years, including hunting and shooting clay pigeons. He was known for creating many beautiful "paint by number" art pieces that are displayed throughout his home. In earlier days, Bob spent many weekends as an amateur race car driver at Lonsdale Speedway in Rhode Island and Seekonk Speedway in Massachusetts. Some of his favorite memories were those spent racing "jalopies" in the early days of stock car racing. 

Bob especially loved being a grandpop! Whether it was cheering them on at their sporting events, or chauffeuring when needed, Bob was always on call for the fun stuff. He also greatly enjoyed traveling with his wife and family.

Robert is the beloved husband of Clare (nee Smith); father of Thomas (Jeanie) Wilson; grandpop of Michael (Susan), Desiree, Brandi, Maddison and Amanda (Jakob) and great grandpop of Miles, Savannah and Lyla. He will also be deeply missed by his nieces, Diane (Gerald), Sheila (Bill) and Wendy (Tim).

He was predeceased by his son, Robert W. Wilson, Jr., whom he missed deeply.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 6 until 8 PM from the Hollen Funeral Home, 3160 Grant Avenue (West of Academy Road), Philadelphia, PA 19114. An additional viewing will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM at St. Ephrem Church, 5340 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA 19020. Bob's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, followed by Rite of Interment at Resurrection Cemetery.
