Dorothea "Cis" (Carroll) Szarko

Dorothea "Cis" Szarko (nee Carroll), of Philadelphia, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at the age of 85.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Dot was a proud graduate of Little Flower High School for Girls. She spent over 35 years working at the Community College of Philadelphia as a payroll supervisor. Cis enjoyed traveling, as well as winters in Florida as a "snowbird" and summers in Wildwood, NJ. During the summer months, Dot was often found selling chances on the Wildwood Boardwalk for St Ann's Parish.. Cis was also a longtime member of the red Hat Society.

Cis was predeceased by her husband, Stanley J. Szarko; her parents, Dorothy K. (nee Keifer) and Thomas J. Carroll; her brother, Thomas J. (Judy) Carroll and a nephew Dennis Carroll. Beloved sister of Kathleen “Kate” (Bill) Barry; loving aunt of Donna Applegate, Thomas Carroll, Michael Carroll, William Barry, Daniel Barry and Sean Barry as well as 9 great nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing and funeral on Friday, March 14, 2025, from 9:00 AM until 9:45 AM at Maternity B.V.M. Church, 9220 Old Bustleton Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19115; followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne.
